Heathland Group recently completed the Water fountain installation of our Beautiful Medinah Water Fountain in the main campus lake at the University of York. Given the very shallow waters, they went with a horizontal Masters Series unit which is now providing a spectacular display for all to see. With the changing seasons and the many events held on campus, they opted for RGBW colour-changing lights which are fully programmable and allow them to light the fountain with all sorts of colour displays of their choice. As the very best in fountain technology, the fountain will provide them with many years of hassle-free displays and will keep maintenance requirements to a minimum.
The location for the new water fountain is in full sight of the many students, staff and visitors that come to the University, offering a beautiful display and relaxing ambience to the area. When we first spoke with the University they wanted to provide to all an area which was relaxing and would attract people to sit and relax in a calm atmosphere.
Due to issues previously seen with other manufacturer’s equipment continually choking and generally becoming subject to a lot of downtime the university wanted to make sure we could provide the following attributes;
The Masters Series was able to fit into all of these categories. It benefits from being extremely robust and having a motor designed for many years of running life expectancy. In conjunction with one of our custom controllers, the University was able to achieve all the results they required with one very tidy installation which is all fully guaranteed in-house with ourselves. The University installed a 5HP variant of the Masters Series. This provides a display height of 6m and a display width of 9m. This was a perfect match for the RGBW lighting and control system, each of the lamps was a super bright 40-watt LED unit which is capable of the full-colour spectrum.
The Masters Series Medinah is known for its reliability and exceptional build quality. It comes complete with a very comprehensive warranty. One of our custom controllers controls the lighting and fountain, which provide full safety and ease of control. The lighting is controllable back at the main control board or via Bluetooth with the use of a tablet. This makes the programming of the lighting very easy as the customer is able to stand up to 60m from the main control panel to watch the fountain light display as they change the colours or set patterns to run.
All of the cables were changed and upgraded to the correct modern standard for all water fountain equipment.

I have an OxiAir Shallow 900 pump with 5 diffuser plates and I love it. It's almost silent, it fizzes oxygen into my lake in a subtle but visible way and Heathland have been super helpful every time I have had a question. I can't recommend them enough and I know the pump will transform my lake, especially in the hot summer months (I am in Charente in France).
